Mildren Design Group is presently searching for a Project Architect and Architectural Drafter to add to our team.
Position:
Project architect/project manager; full-time, permanent position at a diverse firm with exceptional career development opportunities.
level: Five to ten years; architectural registration completed in the State of Oregon.
Our Firm:
- Established – Founded in 1992 with two members, now a nine-person firm with an ever growing number of repeat clients.
- Diverse portfolio – Projects range from Class A office buildings, retail buildings and commercial/industrial parks to tenant improvement projects.

- Integrated staff involvement – All staff members work together in all aspects of projects, from initial concepts and design through construction documents and contract administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- In charge of coordinating team efforts to complete projects promptly and successfully.
- Create designs to meet client goals and specifications.
- Develop and propose project budgets and time estimations, providing project management for the client and the design team.
- Ensure that the team is working effectively and keeping to the project schedule and budget.
- Review work reports and communicate any needs and concerns to client and project team.
- Develop/nurture involvement with clients (both existing and new) into long lasting relationships.
Knowledge level:
- Proficiency at architectural design and project management for small and large commercial projects; diversity in understanding wood, concrete, masonry and steel construction.
- Experience in all phases of design through construction administration, project management (including coordination between disciplines) and client interaction.
- Manage and produce documents on multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced, energetic working environment.
- Expected comprehensive knowledge of current IBC.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD required; Experience in AutoCAD Architecture and Revit ideal.
- Additional items a plus: Licenses in Western US states; LEED accreditation.

Experience level:
Two year formal training in AutoCAD 2013 or AutoCAD vertical such as AutoCAD Architecture. Revit knowledge beneficial, but not required.
Education level:
College or technical school training in architecture preferred, no architectural degree required.

Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality, demonstrating personal accountability for quality and quantity of work.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge level:
Proficient at architectural drafting for construction drawings for small and large commercial projects in wood, concrete, masonry and steel.
Basic knowledge of assembling working drawings including plans, elevations and details.
Good working knowledge of AutoCAD required, experience in AutoCAD Architecture 2013 is optimum.
AutoCAD experience should include knowledge working with paper space, Xrefs and layering systems.
Experience with Revit a plus.
Basic computer skills including experience with word processing and spreadsheets is required.
